Went to Louisiana for the Day…

When I say I went to Louisiana for the day I DO NOT mean the state of Louisiana, but instead the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art outside of Copenhagen. My friend from university who is also studying abroad was visiting me this past weekend so I decided we should check out the much talked about Louisiana Museum while she was here.

We started the day eating maybe the most DELICIOUS brunch ever (I feel like I say that about every food I mention on my blog but guys, this was seriously SO GOOD) at Wulff and Konstali Food Shop in Islands Brygge. This place is so unique because you get to choose five to seven items off their menu (kinda like a tapas-style brunch) to order which enables you the ability to tend to all your brunch cravings in just one meal. I really recommend this place for any fellow brunch connoisseur!

We then headed to Nørreport, met up with a mutual friend, and made our way to the train (which we missed oops and had to take the next one). The train ride is around 30 minutes and takes you past gorgeous coastal views. The museum is then around a ten minute walk from the train station.

The whole museum has a really nice flow so you get to see everything without ever feeling lost or rushed. Currently, the museum has a fascinating exhibit called “Generation Wealth” which documents the trend of materialism and celebrity in the U.S. which was really interesting to see. There is currently an exhibit called “Hot Pink Turquoise” which I have heard SO MUCH about and was super excited to see but unfortunately, the line was too long so we couldn’t see it. I’m not worried about missing it this time because I’m sure I will make my way back to the museum. My favorite part was BY FAR the infinity room full of gorgeous color changing lights. I was truly MESMERIZED by it and would have stayed inside the room all day if they allowed.

The museum also has a gorgeous backyard area where my friends and I were able to see a stunning pastel-colored sky and a full moon.

After spending a long time at the museum, we checked out the gift shop and called it a day. I have never really been a fan of modern art, but this museum had SO many cool exhibitions and art collections that you couldn’t NOT like it. I totally recommend checking this gem of a museum out regardless of whether you consider yourself a big art fan or not.
